Frances Moore Lappé has authored 18 books on social justice, sustainability and humanitarianism, including the legendary bestseller, Diet for a Small Planet. She is the co-founder of three organizations that explore solutions to hunger, poverty and environmental crises through what she calls Living Democracy. In 2008, she received the James Beard Foundation Humanitarian of the Year Award for her lifelong impact on the way people all over the world think about food, nutrition and agriculture.
